I know that the election has caused some strife and division. Many people are disappointed, some are happy. I just wanted to make a quick video calling for unity. No matter who you voted for in the 2016 election, we still have a lot to be thankful for. Please share this video, I think we could all use a positive message.
Video Transcript:
A week ago today, we went to the polls and we elected the 45th President of the United States. And if you’ve been paying attention, then I probably don’t have to remind you that the election cycle was vicious and divisive. I think the question right now is: Where do we go from here, and are we going to let things get uglier?
And I say, “we” because it is entirely up to us as to whether or not things get ugly or they get out of control. So, like others that care about this country, which I do…I’m taking this opportunity in my own humble way to ask all Americans to come together and let’s give the President Elect a chance. After all, that is the American way.
There’s a lot of anger, and a lot of hurt out there. I truly understand that. But I also know that what makes our country as great as it is, is it’s willingness to actively encourage democracy, diversity, and freedom.
The job for the President Elect, at this point is to find the right balance between that democracy and that freedom that allows everyone, all of us, all American citizens to feel included, represented, and most importantly…safe.
When I started this firm, Sigmon Law, PLLC, I started it with the mission of representing “the People,” and working to ensure that all Americans had their constitutional right to a trial by jury preserved. That was something that is very important to me, it’s something that I believe in, and I think it is a significant check for the average American, who has to live a life in the world today. I believe in that very much. I think it’s also fundamentally patriotic.
So with some of these things in mind, and just speaking my mind a little bit, I call now on the President Elect to be honorable; I would like for him to be just, and I would like for him to be committed to protecting and prospering all of America, because this is the greatest country on the face of the earth. And it’s our country.
So I say to the President Elect, “congratulations,” and I say to you, “God bless you.” God bless the President Elect, and God bless the United States of America.
Thanks so much for your time.
